OUR PRACTISE
Welcome to Elemental Counselling & Psychotherapy. At the heart of our practice is coming as you are. Life can be beautiful and it can also be hard. Through our years of personal and master’s level professional study of the body and mind, we are here to support your mental health and remind you that you are not alone.
Whether it be working towards getting out of bed, having a difficult conversation with a loved one, reducing anxiety, or working through trauma, nothing is too small or too big to come to us for. With our expertise, we use evidence-based therapeutic approaches while also allowing room to simply connect on a human-to-human level virtually or out in nature.
This is a contained space to feel safe, honest, reflective, and expansive. We are trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and welcoming of all cultures, genders, orientations, and relationship structures. We believe in professional masters-level education and experience in the field of therapy to provide the best support possible. We value our time together as we walk alongside each other in this thing we call life.
There is a harmonial balance in the elements of nature, just as there can be in our body and mind. As one of the elements is not more or less important than any other, we believe all parts of ourselves can work together to create our own calming balance.

Hi, I'm Laura. I am a registered clinical therapist who offers secure online counselling to BC + Canada. I am a born prairie woman with a big heart who has a passion for mental health and supporting others. I love authentically connecting to people, new experiences, big laughs, and being in the ocean whether it be January or July. Fun things to know about me are I have a deep love for sparkling water, I ocean swim in all seasons, and have lived in various communities in my life including Paris, Toronto, Montreal, Cape Town and now my forever home—Vancouver. People describe me as passionate, intuitive, and calming, which I value and hold immense gratitude for.
I have had mental ups and downs. My experiences with my own mental health inspired me to become a therapist and be a support to others in this thing we call life. I know what it feels like to be lost, full of despair, and thinking I would never feel better. I believe mental health is the core of everything in life, and I have witnessed the deep need for mental health education and support around the world and in the country we call home.
I am here to normalize it is OK to be where you are right now as you read this. I am a therapist who not only offers insight but also provides personalized tools, and supports behavioural changes along the way. I recognize finding the right therapist is so important, and if any of this resonates with you, I would love to meet you for a free consultation so we can further connect and explore what brings you to therapy.
